Crowded Hours

Because of delays with the Secrets of the Ancients scenarios, I've shifted over to running the Crowded Hours adventures - currently Type S. From a playing point of view, its good. And we used 1,001 Characters instead of rolling up characters for a change.

Despite the poor weather conditions here in Northumberland, I ran the final part of the Type-S scenario.

There were a couple of times when I got a bit lost so had to ad-lib. Fortunately it worked out OK in the end.

I only started running Crowded Hours because Secrets of the Ancients downloads weren't ready in time. Will return to SOTA later. However, I can say I'm pleased with Crowded Hours.

I have noticed, though, that some Traveller adventures have a "game within game" in them and I find that this can be quite demanding in terms of preparation time and GM concentration.

Am thinking up a Christmas project - possibly get to grips with the Core Rules coverage of Space Ships and writing up some quick reference sheets.

I've got to say the Windermann Incident is very much my type of scenario.

I also liked Type S and Crowded Hours as good examples of scenarios without combat, but still have a lot of action.

The maps for Crowded Hour's Windermann Incident vary in quality.

The worst ones are those that are obviously bitmapped. The text on pages 68-81 are particularly awful.

Despite those flaws, I still like Crowded Hours. But I find the scenarios within to be labour intensive so I've resumed ad-libbing adventures while in the background getting familiar with the Windermann Incident.
