Credit Disintegrator

Spartan159

Banded Mongoose
Playing out a space encounter that started out at the extreme end of distant range, watching missile salvoes being launched, and EW massacring them right after launch, and thinking "Look at all those credits going poof"

Which part brings me to, are the prices in CRB/HG for missiles and torpedoes for one individual item, or for a ton of them?, ie per 12 missiles / 3 torpedoes?

The prices are per ton.

CRB157: "…missile racks holds 12 missiles and costs Cr250000 to refill."

That is the same price given in the missile table for standard missiles in HG.

It might be implied, but I don't see an explicit text.

Not that I don't think making it individual is likely to bankrupt you in a prolonged engagement.

Considering everything else is per-ton, it would surprise me greatly if torpedoes are not. Based on that, I'd say torpedoes are priced per ton.

And here I thought that a much simpler credit disintegrator was a shopping mall?

It's not unreasonable. Missiles should be expensive, so players or pirates using them should be a rarity. Where you see two enemies launching shoals of missiles at each other you have real navies with taxpayers footing the bill.

Which, if you wanted to keep with the theme, you would see local naval craft armed with more energy weaponry to cut down on expenses. First and second line ships would be more likely to mount missile-heavy armaments.

And hey, raiding an Imperial interdiction satellite for its magazine of missiles would be a lucrative job for an enterprising crew of adventurers!

Hum... how to do it and not get caught or killed. This could be interesting... :D
