Similar to the Balieoisin thread, this one will be for updates to the other Slaine title I am doing some work on - tentatively called 'Creatures of Tir Nan Og'.
CoTNO will be a listing of creatures to use in the Slaine RPG, concentrating on providing stats for animals not in the main rulebook (Slaine or Monsters) and Celtic beasts of legend, as well as updating the creatures missed the first time around (the Bicorne, for example, and the creatures found in the Moon Sow campaign).
At the moment I am looking for possible critters to add to the book, working through a mammoth mythology dictionary (about 1200 pages long, only a quarter of the way through).
I hope to be able to find somewhere in the region of 120 new creatures/animals to add to any Slaine campaign, all of these will be based on either the real world or Celtic myth (Irish, Gaul, Welsh, Scottish, a little British, Manx, Brittany, et al).
So far I have somewhere in the region of 65 possible entries, but I expect a few of those will fall by the wayside as I do more research (for example it may be that the same creature has multiple names, although I have caught most of those, or is too similar to other beasts).
As I research the Celtic world I am finding quite a few little snippets of information, at least one creature will appear in the BoC as a notable NPC, and another looks as though it will provide a plot hook.
Once the initiall research is done I will look at completing a couple of creatures a day in the evenings. This will make a nice break from the BoC and is a target I feel is well within my capabilities.
More later...
