I thought about it a while back.

If the requirement is that you transit with hundred tonnes, what happens when you immediately dispose of a portion of that volume?

Therefore, it must mean that the hundred tonnes is required to keep the transition stable, throughout the period spent in jumpspace.

You mean a ship with a tank totaling 100 tons jettisoning the tank normally at the moment of jump? Your ship is now physically a small craft carrying a jump drive and the reason you don't have 99 ton starships immediately becomes apparent probably messily. If you jettison the tank during or after transit to jumpspace, it would most likely be FAR worst than a misjump. I'm sure every culture who discovered jump engines or just didn't believe the stories lost a lot of good people getting it proven to them.

Do not mess with jump physics for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
