Couple questions on EA shipbuilding

Assembling first. You can see some of them if you go to the gallary thread and look at my post. No paint yet, just assembled. I might rip the less spinnable ones apart and re do them, though

As well as the main hull you should get two sprues per Olympus, each with two engines and one probe. The probes go on the lower front corners of the Olympus, with the slightly flattened edge facing out. The engines go on the rear corners, with the afterburner fins facing out.
The only problem I'm having with them is the amount of junk metal on the main hull, but I'm hoping that some Dremel work will fix that...

The piece that transsects the ship always looked goofy to me. I cut them off when I built the "el grande" version of the model and used the ships for my Raider fleet.

I assume, from a design standpoint, that the fat side is the bridge, for some reason Earth ships like having distinguishable bridge or observation sections, which are wonderfully good targets. If that is so, the stick out the other side is most likely a counter balance. It would make sense, because if the ships center of gravity was off, it would make maneuvering awkward.

It ruins the sense of symmetry. It is, unlovely.

That almost sounds like you are quoting a vorlon.

Perhaps it came from the Vorlon inside of me? ;>

Beauty is a three edged gem....

Never liked the saucer thing that comes with the standard Hyperion, makes it look a bit weird. Also - easily broken off!

So I have stopped trying. :)
