Corsair Deckplans and Design screwed?

Hey all,

My players just got themselves a used Corsair class ship, but I am still weirded out that it isn't listed as streamlined.

First off it looks more streamlined then things like the gazelle class escort.

Second If it is often used for pirate and priviteering I would think no being able to scoop fuel would be a huge detriment.

I'm thinking on adding scoops/fuel processors, because they make sense. What is everyone elses take? Is this a Typo or Oversight? Was the CT version steamlined?

On top of this the deckplans are a bit odd... I tried counting the squares and things didn't make sense. None of the numbers add up. Most of the deckplans seem to scale 1 dton to square.

The cargo bay seems twice the size it should be and the ships lockers are huge. The staterooms dont seem the correct size either. Neither does the dronebay...

What is up with this deckplan?

All of the deck plans in the TMB are hosed. Download the revised plans off of the Mongoose main page (follow the links for The Core Book).

Corsairs probably come in as many variations as their are Corsair bands. If you want a streamlined version, make one. Then post it for the rest of us to use/steal/borrow/admire!

This is the Revised Deckplan RTT, although it is hard to tell unless you blow it up in photoshop or something.
if there aren't better ones out there, I will be altering the deckplans forsure. I'm going to try to keep the same basic design as I like it. Maybe to make it streamlined, I'll make the wings a little more forward sweeping, like the Grumman_X-29 or the Berkut Su-47 .

Not streamlining the Corsair<<<The armed Salvage Craft makes quite a lot of sense. Streamlining costs what? 20 Percent of hull volume? For a ship designed mostly as a pirat that means 60 or 80dton LESS cargo space for booty, replacement parts or "live cargo".

If you want to go planetary raiding, get yourself a Javelin!

Um streamlining doesn't atleast rulewise remove even one dton out of available space. It just costs more Mcr's.

GURPS Traveller reduced your available space if you streamlined the craft, but this is the only version I'm aware of that does it that way. As tneva82 said, it's just more expensive for Mongoose Traveller.

T20 reduced space for airframe designs: 5% got you a lifting airframe.

I think any "lost" volume due to streamlining in most Traveller rules is presumed to be only inefficient for all but fuel usage*, and since most starships are a large percentage of fuel the detail is below the scale of the rules and ignored.

* and probably some of the bridge tonnage

As a quick side question I've been wondering about since the corrections were posted, are they actually different? And are they correct? This thread would seem to indicate a negative for the second question at least and might imply for at least some of them a negative for the first question as well.
