Has anyone tried to convert any of the Monster manuel creatures to Conan. How do you handle AC and DR?

Do you reduce the number of HP for creatures?

The monster advancement rules are missing from the Conan book. However, monsters don't seem to follow this rules that characters do.

One option is to convert monsters as Conan does characters: to reduce hp, strip off all hp and CON bonus from 11 HD on. Add 3 "monster class" hp for every HD from 11th on.

Dodge = 10 + Dex mod + size mod + dodge feat (straight +1 bonus vs. everyone) + misc.

Parry = 10 + Str mod + size mod + parry feat (straight +1) + misc. Shields give a variable bonus to parry.

Armor (including natural armor) = Damage Reduction

Initiative = Dex mod + base Reflex save + Improved Initiative feat (+4) + misc.

None of these values (dodge, parry or DR) should be that terribly high (past mid-teens) in most cases. I would just "fudge" it using the above as a guideline for converting monsters until the official rules come out. Remember, monsters in Conan are rare, and importing D&D dragons and the like will have a dramatic impact on the Hyborian Age. If you're running D&D settings with Conan rules, than ignore this last bit and have fun (but remember the higher lethality rate of Conan's rules)!

Except monsters in the Conan RPG with more than 10 HD follow the standard D&D rules and get the same hp they would get in standard D&D. For example, the earth elemental has 20 HD. It gets 20d8+70 hp. (20 x 4.5) + 70.

So, monsters, like you said, dont seem to follow the rules as characters do. They get their full HD regardless of whether its over 10 or not.

Which fits with the stated idea at the beginning of the book that some monsters are simply too terrible to overcome.
