Confused About Talents

Hello in the core book revision flow charts were added to the talent pages. I'm confused by these as they seem to indicate needing to take one ability in the chain before you can take the next.

This implies conflicts with the copy that lists specific prerequisites.

Could someone clarify whether or not you have to take the abilities in order as implied by the color chart under each talent section? Or can you choose whatever you want from the tree as long as there isn't a prereq listed in the description?

You need to take talents in order but you can take ones that are in the same column if you see what I mean

The prerequisites that are listed are in addition to having to take the previous talent in the tree. If you look at the listed prerequisites, you'll notice that none of them come from the same tree as the talent you're looking at.

Thanks, that makes sense. There was some confusion as our group had several "different" versions of the core book.
