[CONAN] Question about Skill Points and Multi-Classing

[Supplement Four]

Skill points given at additional levels refer to the Character's overall level? Or the level the character has in that class?

For example, a 3rd level Thief cross classes into a 1st level Soldier, making a 4th level character.

How many skill points does this character get?

Same as a 1st level Soldier? (2 + INT mod) x 4

Same as a 4th level Soldier? (2 + INT mod)

He only get Base Soldier skill increase (2+Int Modifier)

You only multiply by 4 at the initial level (eg 1st level [Class] AND 1st level Character) as your max skill level is Character level +3.

I'll have to check my D&D3rd ed PHB too. IIRC it was explicitely stated in that book that the x4 only occured on your starting level.

Although I find this odd that the Conan RPG doesn't explicitely state it too as it's an important part of core mechanic.

Yeah. The Conan game, especially the 2nd edition, is so detailed about the rules. Strange that this was overlooked.
