Conan map preview

Great! I hope he does.

And we also have these maps of Dale's:

Is it too late for Mongoose to correct the maps for RttRoK? I guess that question would be mostly for Vincent D. or any other Mongoose staff who visit these forums.

It saddens me that Mongoose doesn't seem to give the Conan license the respect and love it deserves. Being a fan of Conan, as we all are, I would think that Mongoose would cherish this opportunity to produce the definitive Hyborian Age collection, text and maps that will be sought by collectors for years to come. This is Conan after all, not some generic fantasy throwaway world, a license should be approached with respect and a sense of responsibilty.

The human resources are there, Vincent D., Dale R. and Thulsa. Is it really that much of an obsticle to join thier knowledge to a map artist? BTW, I want to make it clear that the writing of Vincent D. is not the issue to me, he has the knowledge and respect for the material, something seems to drop out of the bottom though between the transition from Vincent D. to Mongoose - or at least from Mongoose to the consumer.

Using the example set by Dennis Detwiller for Delta Green, if Mongoose can't or won't correct thier maps, might Vincent D. Dale R. consider a Ransom Model for a high quality accurate map? If licensing is an issue maybe Mongoose could give the project its blessing in some way? I'm reaching here I know, but there has to be some way to produce a map that matches the text Vincent D. has written. I know I would be willing to pay the price of the RttRoK for a well made, accurate map alone.

Well, I am not Mongoose staff, nor an employee of theirs in any capacity, which means I have no idea if it is too late or not. I hope not. I hope the maps can be fixed. I would love to see a correct and definitive map, and (as you said) there is no reason why it can't be made.

Some problems include:
1. Sukhmet is located in two places in Stygia.
2. Xuchotl is located in two places as well (in Darfar, correctly, and in the (jungled?) southern desert, incorrectly).
3. Keshia and Alkmeenon are supposed to be in Keshan (Keshia is its capital!), but the map places them both in Stygia.
4. Kusan is located in two places (to the east of Khitai, correct, and to the west of Khitai, incorrect).
5. This map also has jungles in a temperate zone
6. The Southern Desert is indicated as being plains and forest instead of desert.
7. The Goralian Hills are supposed to be in Aquilonia, not Cimmeria.
8. Also, where is the river that runs through the centre of Khauran?

You know, I leave for a year and we're still having the same issues? Gack. I'm about to invent my own world as well as magic system at this point and save the trouble. 8)

Oh, hi all. ;>

Yes, well change is the only constant.

Yes well, that morphed from favour for a friend with a good fantasy book and no RPG experience to co0authorship. I'm stil not sure how it happened. Now the third co-authot is talking about 'future projects'.

Is it possible to go pro by accident? ;>
