Supplement Four
Mongoose
In the spirit of the optional Attack = Parry AC rule, what would you think of this...
When the Attack throw exactly equals the Dodge AC of the target, that attack misses the target but the weapon slams into a tree, table, chair, or other close object, providing a Sunder attempt on the weapon.
Exactly what the weapon slams into is up to the GM. The rule would be ignored if no obstacles exist.
I picture....
A fight among the tall pines in the Cimmerian foothills. The Vanirman swings his greatsword, and as his Cimmerian target deftly slips out of the way, the Vanir's sword bites into the side of a tree--a sunder attempt on the sword and/or possibly having the sword stick in the tree requring a DC 10 STR check to pull it out (DC 5 if the Vanirman takes the round and uses his leg to pull on the weapon).
Or, something like this...
Conan swings his hammer above his head and brings it down with all his might. But, it's too late. The Zamorian has dashed to the side, and Conan's hammer smashes into the inn's door (do a Sunder on the door). It splits into pieces.
