Mongoose
Is there a list that shows all of the rpg books and PDFs that have been put out for Babylon 5? If there is one could someone give me directions? It would be great if it had the supplements for the miniatures stuff as well. Thanks! :D

Allow me to give you my B5 RPG Collection, it is complete I believe, in fact may contain some duplication. I have also included, where I have it handy, author's name (apologies for any innaccuracies) and ISBN number, as well as publisher reference.

NB The first group is of the old Babylon Project RPG, not a Mongoose product but still worth knowing about.

Unless explicitly stated all of the following were available as hard copy, many were also available as pdfs.

Hope this helps

Very impressive collection. Are you not including the Traveller B5 books in the mix though?

They were all printed.

The first edition RPG stuff is now out of print, but you may still be able to find copies in stores. They weren't all turned into pdfs.

I HATE to hijack this thread, but it is related.

I have never purchased a B5 book from Mongoose. I am coming at this from Traveller as a ruleset, but B5 as a LONGTIME fan.

Given that I will get the Traveller B5 book and Ships book.

What other Mongoose stuff, from LBH's list above would you recommend? PDF is prefered but printed is OK too.

I can't obviously get everything (not that rich), but 3-4 books are probably doable. I am seriously considering Deconstruction, just for the novels and Dilgar stuff.

FLUFF is what I am looking for, I will be using Traveller rules for actual gaming.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Have you got LC's novel best bit of fluff I have read on B5 :P

I have the Centauri book (no real suprise) - lots of interesting and useful background fluff, good telling of their whole history and some useful facts on biology (occassional errors - Centauri women do shave their heads according to their Emperor), misses out a bit surpisingly details about their religion although does go into a great deal about social organisations. I imagine the other race books are similar ?

Ships of the galaxy is ok but the ACTA fleet book is probably just as good and as useful if you are not using the B5 rpg rules.

The best fluff book, is far and away the Galactic Guide. Which details every planet in the B5 universe.

Other fluff heavy books: Narn, Centauri, Minbari, League. League is the best of those IMHO.

The season books have synopses of the episodes, with scenario hints, plus some crunch.

Free Mars is good, as are Earthforce Campaign and IPX. But are pretty specific.

I didn't find Psi Corps to be particularly good and Technomages is full of spells.

I can't tell you about many of the 2nd edition books, cos I haven't got them.

Guide to the Station is a cool boxed set, but probably doesn't tell you anything you don't already know.

PDF versions of a lot of the B5 books are available on DriveThruRPG

I'd agree with Greg about the Fact Books for the various races. Personally, I liked the Psi Corps book as well - but there's not much fluff in there that can't be gained from reading the Birth of Psi-Corps trilogy. The Galaxy Guide is a great fluff book. Also the Lurker's Guide to Pak'Ma'Ra is good for fluff on that race, although it's also got a lot of stats in it.

I agree with Greg, best fluff books are pretty much what he says.

My top ones would be the Galactic Guide, and Earthforce Campaign guide (though obviously that's EA specific.

The Ship plans are also system neutral. Though they are based on 1" squares.

All of the above except "Deconstruction...." are hard copy though many are available in pdf.

I did omit the Leap of Faith pdf but it was included in the later printings of Lurker's Guide to Freedom Station.

I also forgot the 2 upcoming Traveller books, because I don't yet own them they aren't in m inventory so I missed them

I'll update the list above appropriately, still, not bad for a first pass through 8)

Galactic Guide Ian 'Lizard' Harac MGP 3341 1-904577-99-7

Mongoose Babylon 5 RPG 2nd Edition
Galactic Guide (2nd edition reprint) Ian 'Lizard' Harac MGP 3341 1-904577-99-7

Can anyone confirm this? Normally, a revision would have at least got a new ISBN. I though that the Galactic Guide, being nearly all fluff, was simply usable with both 1st and 2nd edition. If this does exist, what changes were made, and how can you tell the difference between the two?

Unless lastbesthope's list is incomplete, all of the 1st edition material, save the Pocket Edition, is available as a pdf on DriveThruRPG. Nearly all the released 2nd edition material is available as well, save the GM Screen (not a huge loss), Starports and Thirdspace.

I think the Galactic Guide was released at one point with a new cover for the 2nd Edition. I don't think there were any changes made to the actual text. The difference between them would be visible in the cover. A blue starburst cover is 2nd edition. A black cover is 1st edition. I suppose the ISBN reflects a reprinting of the same book, rather than a new edition.

Yep, it's the same book, the text has not changed a bit (even the 1st Ed. stats at the end of the book), but it comes with a softcover and in black and white for $35. (200 pages)

A friend of mine has bought the PDF and that's in colour.
(and my guess is that the 1st edition book was too...)
The planets are much better represented in colour than in shades of grey!

I'm really pissed about this one!

I have these PDFs as well. Are they included in some of the books?

All three are for A Call to Arms.

Battle of Quadrant 14
Battle for Sector 14
Battle of the Rim

I have both, same ISBN, same text inside as far as I can tell.

To tell the difference, apart from the Ship Plans, which are edition neutral, all 1E RPG books have black covers, all 2E RPG books have Blue covers.

For acta, all 1E stuff has a black cover, all 2E stuff (thus far) has a red cover.

I know Battle for quadrant 14 was a download (battleofquadrant14.pdf)

EDIT : YEs they were all downloads from the website, just checked, I'd missed some it seems.
