Come About special action on 90° turn!

While playing games i have now been told that i cant add the +45° turn to 90°.

Have been told that the only turns allowed in acta are 45° and 90°.

Yet i cant find anywhere in the rule book to confirm this!

I believe that this belief has come from the examples of turning of the movement page where there are 1/45° and 1/90° shown as examples!

But it doesn't say anything about these being the maximum degree of turning there is!

So can someone tell me can you add 45° to a 90° to make a 135° or not!!!

It's an example of common sense vs rules lawyers. The Special Action states that you can increase your turn by 45 degrees. If you have a 90 degree turn, you can make one 135 degree turn with the special action.

The rules list the available turn scores for ships, not all the possible turns. If you followed that example, you'd never be able to make a 44 degree turn.

Isn't it usually better for a 90deg turn ship to just make a second turn, or goes come about no longer give that?

I wouldn't say that, it really depends on the situation. I can see times where either one would be better than the other.

It really depends on the situation. I've done both with my Whitestars (and moments before doing it the first time, I was questioning out loud why a WS would ever need to use that SA. Needless to say, I figured it out...)

It also depends on how fast the ship is. It might not have enough move distance in inches to fit another turn in, and leave 2inches between each turn. Or it might be lumbering.

I must have been thinking of something else when I posted that, it doesn't relate to this thread at all. :?
