On the manual fire tab there is a "Clear" button that will reset all of traits so that you can turn off double/triple damage. You aren't using an older version are you? One of the earlier ones did not have that ability which was a major oversight on my part. Easiest way to know if you've got a newer version is if it has a menu bar at the top.
