Combat armour

The weight of combat armour seems very wrong, as even the toughest character with STR 15, END 15 who could carry 60kg would suffer bane when wearing any of the combat armours (the 'lightest' is a mere 48kg!) Compared with 1st ed, TL14 combat armour is now 4 times heavier.
I would suggest halving (at least) all the weights as these armours are meant to be made out of advanced materials.

I would also suggest that Combat Armour requires a Vacc Suit skill, since it can operate like a Vacc suit.

Absolute agreement. That must be a typo, because it was required in the 1st edition (at Vacc Suit 0).

The weights are probably not far off what I'd expect if you were carrying it in your arms. As worn encumbrance it is way too high. I'd suggest halving the weight of partial armour when worn and quartering the weight of full armour when worn.

Conversely, I'd say that the unpowered weight of battledress is on light side but not by a huge amount.

Even carrying it in your arms and considering it as encumbrance, the weights are still too high, especially when compared to the vacc suit and hostile environment vacc suit.

Just as a side note on Combat Armor in a conversation with Frank Chadwick a few years ago it came out that Combat Armor was considered to be powered in that it supported it's own weight with no further strength augmentation.

If combat armor is powered then the weight wouldn't matter and it should have the same star as Battle Dress.

But if it is unpowered, as seems to be the case, the weights are way too heavy and needs to be closer to what was listed in 1st ed.

Figure closer to the Hostile Environment Vacc Suit, which also is powered but doesn't provide any strength augmentation.

Also Note in CT only the Vacc Suit had a listed weight and that was assumed to be the Life Support pack.

And Finally Daniel I agree, the current rendition of Battle Armor probably should conform to MgT 1st.
