Cloak questions

Okay guys, old SFB hat here, new ACTA player. Our store just got in ACTA SF and we have been playing it and I have some cloak questions:

1. When attacking a rom cloaked with the +2 stealth trait, does a roll of six on the attack ingore the stealth trait or does it still have to pass +2?

2. If a weapon is multi-hit, say for example a standard photon, does the initial attack only have to pass the +2 stealth, or does all the multi hit 4's have to pass it as well?

3. And finally as well as comically, The rom played stayed cloaked and got whaled on, he was critted to the point of "cant make special action" so does that mean that he could not uncloak until he repaired?

Any help would be appreciated?

1+2: Each hit scored on a fully cloaked ship is ignored on a roll of 2+, including shield bypasses (rolls of 6). Since a multihit 4 weapon causes 4 hits, you'd roll four saves.

3: Afraid so, although I suppose if it's that badly damaged it won't want to decloak anyway !
 
Expanding slightly.

Problems caused by the use of the word "Hit" for everything.

Roll to see if you "Strike" the target as normal. For Phasers and Photons etc a natural 6 on the roll to "Strike" the target will ignore the shields so put these in a different pile.

Then take all attacks that "Strike" the target, factor in multi hits to work out how many "Hits" of one damage each impact the cloaked ship.

Then roll the 2+ cloak save (or 5+/6+ Stealth save) against every hit.

Those Hits which were not saved are then applied to the ship (remembering that the natural 6s which are not saved will by pass the shields.

An example.

A Fed CA and a Gorn BC are operating against a Romulan deep raider. The Romulan cloaks and tries to get in front of a convoy, the warships move to attack since they have limited time before the convoy arrives.

The ships close inside the Phaser kill zone and fire Phasers and overloaded photons. Because the target is cloaked no seeking weapons can be used so Plasmas and Drones are held in reserve till the Rom de-cloaks.

A total of 2 Photons and ten Phasers hit, one Photon and 2 Phasers roll natural 6s.

1 overloaded photon does 8 hits, 8 kill zone Phasers do 16 hits. Total 24
1 overloaded photon natural 6 does 8 hits through the shield and two kill zone Phasers do 4 hits through the shield. Total 12

The Romulan now needs to make 24 2+ saves against the shield hits and 12 2+ saves against the through hits. On average this means 4 Hits will not be saved and will strike the shield and 2 Hits will not be saved and will strike the hull. Remember to keep the saves against each weapon type separate since the Phasers through are Precise and the Photons through are devastating.

Net result of this turns firing, the Rom has taken 4 shield damage and 2 hull damage plus possible crits. The Romulan can de-cloak now since the Fed has fired Photons but the Gorn still has a full set of Plasmas and even without Photons the Fed has a lot of Phaser 1s.
