Chasm of Doom - Unplayable

And of course my selfish ass is wondering if this means us customers here in the US will be receiving our books before those of you across the pond, as it were.

You will indeed - everything will now be distributed from Ohio.

Does that mean that they will have better-made LW books for us finally?

I'd like to send back my FftD I got last year that wasn't made too well. Is the proper contact rveal@mongoospublishing.com or something like that?

Probably best going straight to Matthew at the moment msprange@mongnoosepublishing.com

And what about the correction of the book errors?
I sincerely refuse to buy a book with errors.
I prefer a book with a lame binding that a book with either text or contents errors.
Monggose, can you reply to me?
Will you correct the script of the book?

In the release about the plubishing switch, they explicitly state anyone with sub-standard books will have them replaced

I don't want to be an asshole, but still I don't understand if they will correct the text other than the halfed pages etc...
For example, will the text regarding the equipment and about D.Val be changed?

Taken from the new item
Many of our original hardback titles have been converted to softback titles, with a corresponding drop in the cover price. The first of these titles is Magic of the Young Kingdoms, of which we have just taken delivery. It is in stock in both the UK and US right now, and is a good example of the new printing.

I hope this doesn't mean the rest of republishments get reduced down to soft-cover?

I don't think that will be the case, at least not for us mega-deal customers...seeing as we paid for the hardback collector's edition books in advance. :D

I hope your right (as a mega-deal customer myself) but I was just wondering outloud, I wonder if we will get some clarification on this.

Hi guys,

Just to let you know, we are still looking at this and discussing it with Joe. I can also reveal that Book 5 is due to be completed this week. . .

Can you clarify this? You are discussing downgrading all of the future releases (including the Megadeal) to softcover instead of hardcover, or are you referring to something else?

Can you provide any news on the novels as well?

Urk? Downgrading? Where did you get that idea???

No, the Collector's Editions will remain hardback. As for the novels, they are due for one more editorial pass, and then they will be off to print as well, hopefully around Easter or thereabouts.

Great news, I noticed that Mongoose is returning to their previously aggressive one Lone Wolf book per month publishing schedule starting in April and I am excited to see if the new printers can handle that type of agenda.

Well, this is one of the benefits - we are moving from somewhere that could do 400 books a day, to one that can do over 6,000 a day. The bottleneck now moves to our editors and (gulp!) the Big Man himself!

So... will we get an LW4 without errors ... or not?

good question

sounds like a collectERRORS edition

i am a little disappointed no big changes like in book 1 comes anymore... much more sections would be a great thing.

so it would be best to destroy all old book 4 misprints and remake them without errors.

Msprange, please tell me.
Are you going to fix the errors in Chasm Of Doom or not?
Because if the answer is not, you can say goodbye to my money, and I think I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
Otherwise I'll order my copy as soon as you tell me that it will be flawless in evry part, both physical (but you've already managed to settle things fine with this) and most of all textually

What error? The one of section 129 leading to section 309? That should be something for JD himself to correct, since he is the one who made the book and it has been a recurring error in almost all versions of that book, from the Beaver Edition to the Sparrow one.

Also remember this is the flipside of the error that has existed since the beginning, where from another way the passage does not make sense
