Central Supply Catalog Errata

Weapon implant section in Augments. There is the text, 'Note that a ranged stunner is considered an upgrade from a laser pistol, not a stunstick.' However in the list of implants, there is no ranged stunner listed.

You could end up with something like this….

Especially after binge watching Babylon 5 and reading the old B5 Traveller
The problem with this is High Guard specifically limits 3 weapons per Fixed mount and fixed mounts take up a Hard Point for large ships. For small crafts you have firm points which can only hold 1 weapon and in this case you would only get 1. You have to cross reference when designing things.

What is the issue you are referring to? This has a single firmpoint. I am not following what you think wasn’t cross-referenced?

Sorry if the writing was unclear, the intent of that sentence is to refer to the previous sentence
"...weapons may be upgraded at implantation time only to similar-sized items at cost of five times the base cost in addition to the cost of the standard implant."

Meaning that if you wanted a ranged stunner installed, it would cost the laser pistol implant cost (Cr25000) plus five times the cost of the stunner, not the stunstick cost (Cr10000) plus five times the cost of the stunner.

Not exactly- those are spacecraft scale damage stats derived from a smallscale weapon (aka /10)
So any spacecraft with an armor value of 6 will ignore everything but your laser and that’s ignored at armor 9. There’s a reason why fighters still use ship class weapons.

Now I saw a star fury right up once that was 35 tons had two pulse lasers on firm points and four ground scale missiles.

I'd personally link the 8 weapons rather than leave them separate.

So instead of 8 attacks at 1D damage, you get 1 attack at at 1D+7
You can only link identical weapons and you can’t link missiles, torpedoes and bombs. But even tho combining CCPGs is legal the CCPG’s range of 500 is crazy to short for space combat.

Sort of. The CCPG range is Adjacent (which is fine for dogfighting), and on par with most firmpoint weapons. (HG2024 Update, pg 26)

Couple of rules apply that could push it into Close:
  • Extreme range can be considered doubled in minimal or zero gravity. [[Field_Catalogue]]
  • Extreme Range: If a target is beyond the weapon’s Long Range but less than four times the Range away, it is at Extreme Range. The attacker will suffer DM-4 when making an attack roll. [[Central Supply Catalogue Update 2023]]

The B5 Traveller version of the Starfury had 4 weapons that did the equivalent damage (1D per weapon and AP 3), while the Heavy did 2D plus AP 3

Any spacecraft with Armour 6+? Most fighters have <6 armor. Most civilian vessels have less.

Im going to say this is kind of a case of just because you can do something doesn’t mean it effective. Considering at the same TL you get a Fighter with M-7 and a ship pulse laser with AP2 and High Yield plus Improved Military sensors, a ECM suit, and 4 Vehicle Hard Points capable of carrying one Vehicle missile/bomb each(tho you might lose some maneuver rating). I’ll have to post my conversion of the Rampart TL 15 imperial Fighter later as well as the actual stats of the TL 13 I just mentioned.

Also when you compare you TL 13 CCPGs 500 meter range to the fighters ship pulse lasers range of 10 Kilometer (that close range for ship range bands).

Truth be told with the weapon restrictions (no AP, divide damage by 10, way to short range) the only advantage I can really see is the cost.
