If your first career is Agent and then you choose to take one of the Agent Career paths is that considered to be the same career?

If he gets kicked out of one of that books careers is he forbidden from taking another Agent Career of that book?

I would say that they are not the same career path, and that you are only unable to return to a career path, not the book.

Personally I would say it is the same career, it's like for example you start off as a nurse in say A&E then move to be a ward nurse. They are part of the same career but specialise in different area's. If you get kicked out then you are no longer a nurse.

if that were true, if you were kicked out from being a cop (Agent Core Rulebook) you could never be a Private Detective or work in corporate security or as a Bounty Hunter ... sure I might say you couldn't go into Law Enforcement...

I think the situation is going to vary with each character. If the Player comes up with a reasonable way that they could have transfered to a different division within the same company, I would not consider it a different careers.

But the Law Enforcement/Private Eye thing is definitely two careers.
