Bypass/Enhance Parry CM's

According to the Combat Manoeuvres Summary Table both Bypass and Enhance Parry are stackable CM's. But this requires two CM's, to get two CM's the attack or parry roll must be a critical and the opposed roll must be a failure. If the opposed roll fails there is no need to use the CM.

So, what is the use of stacking these manoeuvres? Am I missing something or is my interpretation correct?

You're interpretation is correct. However, Spirit Magic or GM ruling for special situations could give you additional CMs.
