Buying SST direct: $ or £?

I don't know whether this is an ethical question or purely pragmatic, but as I'm UK-based, and with the dollar the way it is at the moment it *looks* as if ordering SST minis in US dollars from Mongoose's site would work out cheaper than ordering then in GBP. Is there any reason I shouldn't or couldn't? Would orders in dollars be dealt with and shipped from the US for instance, or am I just in danger of 'ripping off' Mongoose because they offer a pricing in dollars? I'm just after the biggest bang for my (ahem) buck...

The only problems you might have is that it can sometimes take a while for things to be delivered from the US, also see if you can get large orders marked as gifts so you don't have to pay import duty on them (that will bunk up the price by a fair chunk).

Indeed, I've occasionally been shocked by the additional costs both UK Customs and our beloved ParcelForce have slapped on an item before I can take receipt of it.

In this case though would it definitely be shipped from the US?

Also, when I investigated it, the shipping costs ate most of the advantage I noticed.
