Burst Fire & Full Auto - Ammunition Usage

Melbourne Accords

Banded Mongoose
The current ammunition usage rules for burst and full auto are as follows (p. 75).

Burst - This uses a number of rounds equal to the Auto score.
Full auto uses a number of rounds equal to three times the Auto score.

These rules have not changed since the revision of Auto scores (i.e. Auto scores have been halved). I support the new approach to Auto scores, but the consumption of ammunition requires revision. To retain the previous ratios, the section on p. 75 should read as follows:

Burst - This uses a number of rounds equal to two times the Auto score.
Full auto uses a number of rounds equal to six times the Auto score.

Why would the old ratios need to be maintained? I for one prefer the new ones, with lower 'burst costs'.

It was not my intention to offer an argument about 'burst costs' (although anyone is welcome to do so). Instead, I was noting that one part of the rules had been changed without any change to an associated section. If there has been a decision to make a second change (i.e. to the ratios involved), then I'd be interested to hear about it. If there is no such decision, then there is a need for a correction.

Ah, gotcha!

Although I disagree a bit. By keeping the ratios (auto/3x auto no. of bullets respectively) the second part has been changed too, since they refer to the new auto values, which are halved compared to first edition.

As for reasoning, there has been a couple threads discussing autofire and combat during the beta testing.
