brotherhood conflicts

In the brotherhood entry in the rulebook, it mentions that '..some theorise that one day spells and sword will clash for the crown..." or words to that effect.

Is this flavor text, or did something like this happen? Or does this refer to vonotar? ((who was an ex-brother))

It is not just flavour text, nor has it been recorded as a n 'offixal' event. It simply refers to what often occurs in history when two powerful groups occur in the same nation or group of nations.

Ig GMs want to use it as the start of a conflict, great. If not, it is a false prediciton. Plenty of those in history too...
