Breaching pods on support

Can breaching pods fly on support of capital ships? I don't see why not, the Breaching Pod trait says they act as though they have the Fighter trait, and fighters can fly on support. They will automatically lose the dogfight, of course - but they will delay the attacking fighters by one turn.

Wouldn't they end up slowing down the ship that they were supporting in most cases? Except for the Minbos and Gaim, most races pods are only speed 6. Ok for escourting big slow stuff, but most ships would leave them behind.

Yeah, they most likely would get left behind relatively easily - just wondering if there is anything to stop you from doing it to begin with ;)

I have done that before and even used them to attack in dogfights just to slow enemy fighters down. as you said you lose the pod but it does slow them down.

They cannot act as an interceptor.
With the rules as written, would this be true?
"Any flight that only has weapons with the Weak trait may not be used to add to a ship's Interceptors, as its weapons are simply not strong enough to repel heavy attacks."
Whilst common sense says that no weapons are even weaker than Weak weapons, a breaching pod doesn't fulfill the clause of being a "flight that only has weapons with the Weak trait", and so can technically still act as an interceptor. Probably by throwing meatshields in the way of incoming shots ;)

Seriously though, if anyone does try using this technicality during a game, they probably not worth playing against.
