Book 9: Robot Question

JRoss

Mongoose
So, I was wondering about Arms in Robot. Does the listed Arm table refer to one or two arms? Seems like it should be two, as a Size 5 Arm takes up 10 slots, while a single Size 5 Erect Leg takes up 6. If the Arm counted for both, that would make sense, making the arm about right for its size.

What does everyone think?

I could not make "heads or tails" of the slot system of
Mongoose's Robot supplement, no matter which way I
interpreted it, I never got a convincing robot as a result.
In my view the author made some basic error with the
design system, and if I had to use it (which I don't, be-
cause I now use the German robot supplement), I pro-
bably would retro-engineer the entire slot system.

So far my quick fix is that limbs are in pairs and the slots are the number of slots that you add for additional items placed in the limbs, much like the units add slots. Though the cost of the limbs and weights are per each item. So far this seems to work just fine for me so far, not perfect but it works.

Might have to give it a try, though my German is really rusty. Had three years in high school, but that was quite a while ago. I guess I could limp through and at least get the tables translated with the help of several online translators.

You should have no major problems, the author used a very
clear German, and the design process is not complicated at
all.
