Book 7. . . is in!

Hi guys,

Just to let you know, Book 7 has arrived, and we will be starting to send it out next week. I am guessing you will be fairly patient about this one, as many of you will still be reading/waiting for Book 6!

In other news, the two novels had a slight issue at the printers, which is now being resolved. We had hoped they would be just a week or two behind Book 7, but it will likely be the start of next month before we see them now.

Book 8 will be going off to print this month as will, incoming text permitting, Book 29! Mega-Deal customers will, of course, be getting this one as soon as it arrives in our warehouse (end of October/beginning of November, depending on how much we can prod the printers). The rest of you will have to wait a few months, I am afraid :)

Guessing the reactions to this period of waiting for everyone else (!), would anyone be interested if we re-opened the Mega-Deal, but included the postage costs in the final total? It would give you early (and free!) access to books 29-32, as well as the forthcoming novels (and maybe some other bits and pieces we were planning).

Let me know, and if we get enough nods, we'll bring it back.

As for the rest of the books, we are on course to have Book 9 out by the end of the year and, just possibly, Book 10 will skid in as well.

29-32 free? Colour me interested for one!

When are we going to get a look-see at the 8 & 9 covers? ^_^

The cover for Book 8 is just going through approval and, as soon as it has been cleared, we'll be posting it!

Cool. Am I right in assuming that if the mega deal is resurrected, it will take into account people who already have some of the books, for example I already have 1-6 (and will order seven when I get home). Since I suspect quite a proportion of people who would be interested are like me, and didn't go for the megadeal because they didn't have the money/had never heard of mongoose publishing before, but have been buying them as they come out...

Me, I'm waiting for book 29! So, even if it's not shown on the main LW page, it is scheduled for November?

From what Matthew said, I'm guessing it won't appear, as people can't actually buy it until next year. Megadeal customers have already paid, so for them, it's a nice surprise through the post come november. ^_^

I thought that he was talking about the softcover version. So, Mega-Deal buyers will get book 29 in November while the others will have to wait a few months before ordering the CE online?

That's certainly how I've always understood it. Though since it's now after 6pm, I guess we'll have to wait till tomorrow for Matthew to answer our questions. ^_^

You foolishly predict we go home at 6pm (seriously, there are still three people in the office :)).

There will indeed be a delay between the Mega-Deal customers getting the book, and everyone else.

Heh. I know the feeling, I'm only just leaving work now. So, since you're (possibly) still there, might I prevail upon you to answer my question as well? :P

We'll certainly work something out on that score. . .

Once again this is great news! You guys have really picked up the pace with coming out with the novels and I really appreciate it!!

Wow book 29 out so soon is brilliant news - worth the ten year wait! My only concern is if all the production bugs will have been worked out by then. There are issues particular to the Grand Master & New Order books too which I hope are sorted e.g. Combat Skill rather than Endurance Points referred to in Deliverence use (not that it isn't easily resolved, just annoying it appearing in every book - you get the feeling 'am I doing it right?'). There are other problems and I hope there will be no inconsistencies between Red Fox and Mongoose versions - I'm tempted to wait until I get 1-28 (any idea how long?) before I read 29+ but I'm sure I'll see some spoiler on the internet.
On second thoughts I need to lighten up. Book 29 out so soon - that's fantastic, for Mongoose and the Kai!

The Mongoose version is based on the one made by the people of Project Aon, so a lot of issues have been resolved in the online edition of the book will likely be resolved too in the new version.

Definitely interested in bringing back the Mega-Deal, though I'd hate to have to re-purchase the first 6 books...

Perhaps offering it from book 8/9 on (since I'm sure quite a few of us already have book 7 on pre-order) would be an answer, or possibly splitting it in half (books 1-16, then 17-32).

Just a thought.

While I intend to buy all the books, I just can't afford to stump up the money in one go. I'd prefer some sort of subscription thing so I could be guaranteed the Collector's Editions, even if the financial benefits were less than the Mega Deal model.

This is something we are looking at right now, though it will take a few months to implement.

While seeing the last few books earlier will be a pleasant surprise for most, would it not make sense to include book 28 also? Due to the limited print run on the original version, very few people are likely to have a copy of 28 and since this is going to be expanded to 350 sections, it would seem fitting to bundle it with the other new releases.

I agree. In fact I'd rather receive the books in order knowing that Mongoose will get it right first time. We've waited this long a little longer won't ruin it.

I don't mind having the megadeal, although, the trick is to determine, what about the first 5-6 books that I bought or pre-ordered?

A possible suggestion is to have some kind of programme, that will capture the buying history of those individual buyers, and give them a pro-rated Megadeal sum depending on which book in the series they have bought up to.

Or as Malfeis mentioned...split the books up into sub-sets of Megadeals.
My idea is since the Lone Wolf series are divided into the Kai, Magnakai, Grand Master and the New Order series, why not have smaller Megadeals that encompass each of those series.

Eg:
Series deal - Kai Lord (Books 1-5)
Series deal - Magnakai (Books 6-12)
Series deal - Grand Master (Books 13-20)
Series deal - New Order (21-32)
Accompanying the new Novel Trilogies if you order all 4 series ---> The original "Megadeal"

Just my two cents worth
