Book 7 Commerical Entity?

Working on setting up a company using Book 7 Merchant Prince (1e) If I have 501+ wealth and 108 employees ((Loyalty 10 + Propaganda 3) x Dependability 9) at start. Will it be a Rank 0 or 1 company?

I have not looked at that section of Book 7 for quite some time, but as I recall all companies start at Rank 0. I suggest you re-read that section of the rules; if it does not specifically state that the company must start at Rank 0 then go ahead and bump it up.

You need to start from the Mission statement which there are 8 templates, which are used to determine base characteristics and then work from there. ( Default is rank 0 to start, with changes every financial quarter.)

Im just glad to read that someone is actually using those rules. I could never see how they really fit into a campaign.

Those rules were always a bit intense for me. I eventually boiled them down to something much simpler, 6 stats and more akin to character creation and terms. It was starting the Corp at Rank 0 that got me thinking about it.

But I wish Kegdrainer best of luck! Would be nice to hear how the Corp develops and gets used.

I sent Bryan Steele (the author) a message but have not heard back. Unless I hear otherwise, I will go with the company starting off at rank 1. Reading the example, if they could only start off at Rank 0, I feel that he would not have bothered with writing it up if that was the case.
