Bleak November

Looks like next month will be the first in a while without any new CTA eleases (the new Hyperions are scheduled for around christmas, right?). Funny, I somehow got used to seeing new goodies every month...

Maybe no new releases is not a bad thing. Might they be able to catch up with the demand for the new ships and some of the old that have been in production for quite awhile.

here here. I say don;t make new ships till there are old ships to be had. Its been 4 weeks since my store ordered form mongoose direct and we have only about 6 ships to show for it. (Thats out of about 25-30 things). Its very sad when the company can't fill an order. To me says that they have a terribly week or poorly managed production team. They need to pay the money and get more casting machines as they would pay for themselves, in time. I know a couple of guys that were going to buy several hundred dollars in ships. They have now gone to diffrent games. Sad to see, but I can understand. In todays market minituare compaines can;t afford to have such horrible turn around. It kills. Its sad when they don't see it.

Or of course, maybe there´s so much demand in Europe and the US that Mongoose just can´t keep up, which would speak of some serious succes of CTA... so the bad thing might be a good sign after all?

perhaps. But to turn your back on the largest gamming nation in the world may be a bad idea. (however I don't know if ACTA is bigger here or there) As for making a store wait for over 4 weeks to get its orders is simply foolish.

True, about the stock problems.. It kinda pains me that we can't tell which ships are in and which are out from the website. I've had some orders delayed for up to a month. :(

As for no November release... I'm not very happy but maybe it's better than to be drooling over miniatures that may get cancelled. I remember the Brivoki, Neroon, older Drakh Mothership as few examples of the lost ones. I guess the new batch of Hyperion cruisers is the closest release worth waiting for.

BTW, do you guys think they will ever produce a B4 model? I've always thought it's way cooler than B5 8)

If they ever actually produced a model, it would be anybody´s guess whether they would actually sell it (judging from the current supply problems...)

Well, you got me there, MustEatBrains.
At any rate nohing to do but wait and see :(

I really love B4 though...

And I really wish they could somehow let us know which items are in stock (e.g "OUT OF STOCK" label)

B4 would be a great model, but I would also be interested to see its stats. I would guess at it being unique choice for Minbari fleets (for the first shadow war), but also possibly be a "what if" option for EA fleets. I expect that it would be a War level station at least, as B5 was basically a budget design after the the first 4 went boom/zap/shimmer/etc.

I´ve found some stats in the RPG Supplement book "Point of no return".
Id on´t know how good these stats can be translated into ACtA, but here are they.

Each Section has a DR of 20 and 250 HP.
Weapons in 2254:
For each Firing Arc (estimate right-front, left-front, right-aft, left-aft, because no more information about this :( )

2x Quad-Linked Particle Beams,
10x Particle Beams,
4x MK.I Interceptors

Starfighter compliment:
40 Starfuries, 12 shuttles.

In the Great War change to:

(in each firing Arc)
10x Neutron Laser
5x Fusion Cannon
1x Electro-Pulse cannon
4x MK.I Interceptors

Starfighter compliment:
36 Nial.

So that are the Information I´ve got from the book.

*Edit*
And I found a nice Version of Babylon 4 for Babylon 5 Wars.
It´s an updatet Version, but it is not to different from the "original".

You're absolutely right. B4 was stated to be the largest and most spectacular space complex ever built by the Earth Alliance. It was more combat oriented than B5 (at least the B5 before the new defense grid was installed). Slightly shorter, but has more than twice the mass of B5. Designed to be a mobile base, fitted with the largest Ion engines in Earth history and an impressive suit of weaponry to match. 8)

Check out

for more facts. And the comics "In Valen's Name" by JMS. Does anyone still have those? I lost mine :(

Good for you LBH. Treasure it.

Wish they had made a movie out of it, with the new CGI and all. Not so much action, but if done correctly, the ending scene may well be as powerful as "Sleeping in Light". Too bad that Tim Choate (Zathras) is gone.

We've seen the final fate of the last of the Babylon stations. We should also get to see the end of greatest Babylon station. It will tear me apart though
