Just a wee idea. Adapt SST for skirmish. Have one £50 box of pre painted with rules, 20 Rangers, 5 Deltas, 75-100 militia, card Black hawks, Hummers, Trucks, Pick Ups. Follow that with metal stuff (introduce 10th Mountain, other peacekeepers, militia mortars etc.

If its popular theres room to branch out into other modern conflicts.

Maybe with the MEA but if the USMC are using Land Warrior gear etc then they arent quite right. Also Black Hawk Down is more skirmish than battle.

The figures you quoted above are about the size of a smallish BFE game in my experience.

-Delta Strike Force ( MH-6 Little Birds, 40 commandos [?])
-140 US Army Rangers (approximately) 75 would be in the heliocopters
-4 Navy SEALS
-12 vehicles. (HMMWVs, 5-Ton Trucks )

Ohh...something like 2000+ milita w/ technicals.

Yeah, also you have to add 10th Mountain an dall the other UN troops. I think 7-8,000 men in the box should do.

theres a minis game out called devil dogs. it does have a col. mcknight mini however the game does seem a little flawed with the lack of vehicles. they do, however make their own terrain. heres the site.
