BF EVO the roleplaying game?

Just a thought, but what if you had a roleplaying game like SST but with EVO rules for the combat system? I got this idea from one of the S&P issues that had an article about using SST miniatures combat system in the SST rpg.

I know wargamers and roleplayers don't necessarily get along but there have been a few good modern military themed rpg games out there the most famous of which was Twilight 2000.

Yeah, but most of those alternatives leave a great deal to be desired in terms of playability. Especially if they're OGL.

Nothing against OGL for fantasy, but for moderns, the rules are pretty creaky. I ran a Stargate SG-1 RPG session a couple of years ago. Rather than trying to work my way through the pages and pages of rules, I simplified by using Phoenix Command.

Those of you who have been around RPGs for more than a few years will appreciate the irony. :D

I have a thought to try and tie in BF:Evo to the A:2089 RPG, It'll give me an excuse to dig out Armoured Commpanies and Soldier's Companion.

Ah Armeggedon:2089, a game IMO that should have been miniatures tabletop wargame instead of an rpg.

Come to think of it, It's a wonder that A:2089 was'nt the first Evo game. Also, the world of A:2089 could actually be set in the same universe as BFE, but 80 years in the future! I mean both game worlds had the US and EU fighting each other.
