BF EVO MEA transport question

ok those with rule book will see this

for the MEA you may include as many transports as you need to transport your squad.

so you go out and buy your MEA box set with 8 men inside and a box of 3 technicals.

now one technical can cary 8 men, but on the technical card it says 3 technicals count as a single transport choice.

so this 8 man MEA squad do they allow you only 1 technical or 3 ?

if its 3 fantastic as it makes the MEA afordable to collect if not then you never eat them darn point up !!!!

unit card says a transport choice can take 1-3 technicals.



so i have 1 unit of mea out of the box containing 8 figures or 8 size one modles.

now can i only take

max 1 technical as its able to carry all 8 mea

or can i take 3 as the mea unit allows me to take a transport choice ?? and that allows 1-3 technicals.

will make a huge difference to mea players.
 
darn !!!!

so i need to add 1 extra man to each unit to get 2 technicals !!! but no unit can possably take 3 technicals !!! the stat card mention of 1-3 as a trnsport option seems to make no sence or relevence.

this has just droped the points value down on my MEA considerably :(

of to re-calculate my amy now !!!
 
Gotta agree with Evil here: The Shadow and Technical cards both allow multiple units per transport choice in the army list, so if the army list gives you enough availible transport slots to carry all size 1 units in your army, then shouldn't the card then kick in to let you have double the shadows or triple the technicals?

Or will we be getting revised cards soon?
 
I don't have the Adv. Rule book so my take on this may be completely irrelevant.

You can have as many transports as you need to haul your troops. The card says you can have 3 techs per transport slot. I don't see one that excludes the other.

the as many transports as needed, lets you know your limit.
the 3 techs per slot lets you know how many slots might have to be used.
 
But the original army list stated 1 transport choice per squad (mandatory in the case of armoured units), and the army list rule on Shadow and Technical cards were meant to let you take extra units per transport choice, Similarly the PLA FAV is a support choice but you can take 2 or 3 (I can't remember which) per support slot in your unit.

Now the rules state you can take as many transports as you need to transport all size 1 units - previously infantry-type support and command units would have been hoofing it, or stealing a squad's transport element.

But this then causes a level of disconnect for units like the Technical and shadow, where the card is linked back to a pre-revision list. the simple solution is to say that you can take one transport choice per unit of size 1 models - covering squad, support and command types, and still allowing technicals and shadows their army list bonus.

i totaly agree, it also makes taking a mea force vible as you need some points eaters in the force and technicals do that well. the reduction n technicals for my force has now droped its points value drasticly making the mea in my mind a darn hard force to collect unless you win the lottery.
 
I can see your problem. I refuse to play tourney style, so my options are much more open. My present MEA has enough techs to move my 6 squads of militia and my two units of Fedayeen. (10 techies) I also have in my force 2 jordanian Centurions, a Ferret armored car, and a two special landies armed with recoiless rifles. Revered leader, and 4 snipers are my next things to make.
 
i like to play in tourneys, on thing that sold me on mongoose.

i also like to play same units as others and exsperiance same problems in the game as others, think about this thread though isnt about play style its about rules (rulesmaster) so is in need of a relevent answer, not just for me but for others when they recieve their rule book soon.
 
Hi there,

Update on this.

The three per slot rule applies to Militia Forces, as this has a variable number of slots dependant on how many Squads you take - effectively, it allows you to take enough Technicals to carry Support units or act as reserve/supporting units.

Government Forces simply have a flat rule - you can take as many as needed to carry Size 1 models. There are no real 'slots' to fill (you are effectively getting the option for a 'mechanised' force).
