Beltstrike ... ?

rust

Mongoose
Since I am currently playing a campaign where Belters will become quite
important in the near future, I am very much interested in Beltstrike -
and I would like to ask a couple of questions ...

- When (approximately) will it be published ?
- Will it include new / additional rules for Belter characters ?
- Will it include informations on / rules for belting and belter equipment ?

Thank you very much ! :D

And, more importantly, would the deckplans for that 5,000-dton Mining Platform be provided? :)

"Mongoose, Mongoose, do you read ? - We have a problem ..."

Well, actually I still have some questions (see above), but if someone
perhaps would be so kind ...

Thank You ! :D

They're all off in New Zealand or something. I've asked rules-related questions here and in rulemasters with no response (from Mongoose, at any rate).

I can't say I blame them after the stuff they had to deal with getting the core book published.

Beltstrike is still being written so whilst I would drop a teaser or two and try to reply to questions it won't be for a while.

As for replying in threads - we try but the workload is hellish...

That came out more jerk and less smart-a** than I intended. Please accept my apologies as I did kinda figure you were pretty busty these days.

No apology needed since I assumed you weren't trying to be a jerk ;-) - to be honest you did not really come accross as one either.

Like I said we do try to keep an eye on the forums and do appreciate it can be a little frustrating getting a reply from us on occassion.

Thank you very much for the info, I am looking forward to reading more
about Beltstrike. :D

Thanks for that.

Heeeyyy, since I have you're attention, I have several questions posted in the combat questions thread, if you have a few moments...

/shameless, I know. :-)

As I'm writing it, I can answer those questions, Rust.

- When (approximately) will it be published ?

No idea. I'll be finished writing it in about two weeks. Then it'll be playtesting, editing, layout... so I couldn't give a publication date.

- Will it include new / additional rules for Belter characters ?

Yes. Although its a mixture of campaign and rules.

- Will it include informations on / rules for belting and belter equipment ?

Yes. My next task is working through the equipment and ship creation process...

The structure of the book is to offer an overview on asteroid belts and what can be found there, followed by Belter chargen rules and prospecting systems, then kit and ships, and, finally, the Beltstrike campaign which is set in the Schaeffer Belt of a backwater star system. The campaign is a mix of prospecting, investigation, combat amongst the asteroids, and working out the motives of the megacorp that controls asteroid mining in the system.

Thank you very, very much ! :D

This is exactly the kind of material I was hoping for - the best possible
news for me.

Any comment on how much "extra" work will have to be put in to "OTU-ify" this Campaign? Will suggestions be made in the book itself where locations could be placed etc?

I'll probably buy it just the same but I'm curious how much manual stuff I need to do myself to fit it in.

Hi,

I've got Beltstrike on order from my FLGS.

One question I would like answered... how hard is it to integrate a Beltstrike campaign with a Spinward Marches campaign?

TIA

With all due respect Wolf, one can't expect monkeys to be that good with English. Even pistol-toating monkeys. :D

Probably not much. The Sonares system is a real pre-jump drive backwater, and there are suggestions in the book where it can be located. You might want to do a bit of background fiddling, but probably not that much.
