Hi all,

Are any of you having trouble seeing the favicon, or is it a me issue?

Need to know whether I need to work out how to fix it 🫔

Not seeing any white M.

In standard mode
png image
Shows the dog eared page icon, Post thread | and a partial M

Also the emoticon at the end of your words is cut in half

My browser has 100+ tabs open at any one time. To cope, the browser sends unused tabs to sleep. If a tab is asleep when I close the browser, the next time I open the browser, then the favicon has disappeared. If I open a sleeping tab with missing favicon, and refresh the page, then the favicon reappears. Having said that, not all web pages display this issue. Some sites reload the favicon properly, even though they are technically still asleep.

Bosh okay I came in Monday and it was broken. Thanks all!

I'll leave this thread up if there are any other forum wonks, so just drop me a line here :)

Although the favicon does work for all the the forum.mongoosepublishing, com subdomain links, it doesn't seem to work for the Home page or any of the other, non-forum menu items from the home page:

This is on Chrome 131.0.6778.265. On Firefox 144.0 it works.

On another topic, and I am aware that these are getting further and further from the topic of forums but I got no response when I reported it on Discord (gimme a Jira or Zendesk link ;)): if I have an item wishlisted it shows an incorrect, higher price on the wishlist.

So JTAS 13 shows on the wishlist at £24.99 but on the product page at £20.00. Behind the Claw shows as £59.99 but on the product page it is a bargain at only £45.00. Reach Adventure 7 is £14.99 but is only £12.00 on the page for that product.

This is true of every SKU that I checked, and has been true for months. It appears not to be browser-dependent although the wishlist is held client side so I didn't test as extensively on Firefox. I tried checking in euros and dollars (I use UKP) and I am confident that the wishlist is changing the currency symbol but is always showing the dollar amount.

I'll have to have a look more into the favicons - it works at home (Firefox) but not at work (Opera). Weird.

The wishlist is an issue we are aware of and are trying to fidn a fix for - none of us are particularly tech-minded and there's no indications of why it is doing that. I'll take another look todya and see if there is something I can find!

Thank you :)

I'd kinda suspect that the placement of the favicon link inside the body rather than in the head is a likely culprit: Firefox tends to be more relaxed about this but on Chromium browsers (ie most of them) it'll tend to be an issue. I'd also use http:// rather than // as a prefix, although that's less likely to be an issue. And I'd change the rel value to rel="icon" for wider compatibility.
