maybe.

Rules would be great, and I'd probably buy a set of rules, regardless of whether or not I used them.

Actual Traveller Miniatures - that's going to depend if they fit with the other minis I commonly use now, which is 28mm. But past releases of Traveller minis have been true 25mm and 15mm, which has fairly fractured the market. I'd be less inclined to buy Traveller pre-paints, too.

Yes I agree, 28mm has fractured the market. Most everything in the past was 25mm and 15mm. I wish all these plastics of the modern era would have been true 25mm so I could mix my two collections.

I would love some Traveller mini rules supported by a line of miniatures. But, of course, I'm already a Traveller fan. If the masses would prefer a generic scifi line, I would support that also.

I would prefer miniature figures for use with the Traveller RPG line than a set of miniatures rules based upon the RPG - we already have combat/mass combat rules, and I'd rather just revise the rules (if they need it) than write new ones.

Though I would like to second the vote for 25mm - WITH vehicles!

Interesting, but is there ONE "Traveller universe"???
I was always under the impression that Traveller is generic SF system with several backgrounds. Am I wrong?

Well, the "One Traveller Universe" is the Official TU that GDW created, i.e. the Third Imperium. Though it started as a "create your own" system, so there're at least hundreds of Alternate Traveller Universes out there.

This is, of course, why I'm all in favor of genericizing the figures as far as possible - MGP (who I assume will make the figures, until shown otherwise) should make figures such as "Archduke," Adventurer with Gauss Rifle," "Marine in Battledress," "Pilot," "Engineer" or "Scout in Grav Belt." Use iconic Traveller titles and equipment, but don't mention "Third Imperium" or "Solomani Confederation" - any proper OTU fan will happily read it in there! :D

i have no clue about the traveler universe, but a set of evo generic scfi rules would be good.. so il vote a yes with that in mind,

How would you do factions then?
That doesn't work for a skirmish game, its more for simply having minis used in an RPG.

Ah yes, you have spotted my desire - simply having minis for use in an RPG!

I am not so interested in factions/wargames as RPGs; that said, if there are factions, I'd say go with the OTU - Imperials, Solomani, Vilani, Zhodani, Vargr and such.

If in Hammer's Slammers Traveller...

Most definitely a, "HELL YEAH!"

Original Traveller Spinward Marches...

"Yes."

Generic rules...

"Eh maybe."

Yes - no matter which Universe (OTU/ATU), please do bring us a Traveller wargame. With minis (do not care about the scale as long as the line is extensive - 15mm or true 25mm if it is not).

It would, besides, be a splendid chance to get more fluff on uniforms, equipment and military organizations of the Traveller universe - which might or not be a good idea after all, given the constant vigilance of the Canon Police... ;)

And a gearhead manual for designing vehicles and weapons would be a very nice touch indeed.

All this wrapped up of course with a system that allows easy conversion between the wargame and the RPG and viceversa. :)

They say dreaming is free.:D

Yes especially of it also bridged the gap between planetary scale ship assaults as well as planet based battles.

And we also NEED!!! - well, okay, we merely WANT!!! - a Traveller: Battlefield Space starships minis game. That's where factions come in; you'd need Imperial Dreadnought, Solomani Battlecruiser, Zhodani Frigate, Vargr Commerce Raider and so forth. But importantly, you also would need a faction called Civilian for traders, megacorps and such so there's something for us RPGers to use as counters.

Oh, and scale isn't as important to me as is making sure that the smallest minis are not smaller than the size of a penny - don't make the individual fighter small enough to look like dust just because the fighter is massively smaller than the Dreadnought.

This is a dream that I wish to see come to reality, or at least take part in dreaming.
