Well, all in all a great day
Gregs Crew - Greg (obviously), me, Kenny and Clanger set of at some ungodly hour of the morning for sunny but chilly aldershot. The Games Shop was the venue - excellent it was too - great facilities (if a but noisy when Game Room 2 (!) was filled with many excited B5 gamers).
After a good Breakfast at the local cafe we began 8)
Tank and all involved put a lot of hard work and and it showed
1pt Armegdeon
My fleet
Primus, Liati, Dargan, Balvarin (4 sentri, 4 Razik), Maximus (of course), Kutai, 2 Haven
on to the games:
Game One _ A great Start - Narn vs Centauri (what could set the day off more - "First one to die loses"
8) )
he had - 3 G'lan, 2 G'Karith - nice to face a fleet wiht the same range beams as me and only partially F arc. Short description - I had "stupid" beam / critical rolls - (3 x 6,6) and he did not. A fun and veyr good natured opponent who took it all in his stride and we had a enjoyable time watching the Centauri carve up his ships.
Game Two - Neil and his Minbari
3 Tinashi (?) and 2 Leshath
DID not look forward to this - 36 " of clear table between me and his fleet and although I jumped my Liati in behind his ships - they were firmly enscounced in a dust cloud. My fleet was sliced to bits as it approached and karma played its part as Neils beam and critical rolls were scarily good - like mine in the first game. Killed a Nial and nearly killed a Tinashi. As ever a good game against Neil - a skillful opponent who deserved his place as tournament winner!
Game Three - Hash and his two young Shadow ships - Assassination
Despite my stating we had no grevaince with Mr Mordens friends the game began - a bit cat and mouse with the asteroids in the centre which became more open when the 2nd Shadow ship shimmered in. The Shadows were on good form and sliced a ship up when they fired (as they should do 8) ) but I began to wear them down with Havens, Maximus and the Primus - the stupid Liati couldn't hit anything with its beam and its other guns were just about OK. One Shadow ship was sent adrift before being finshed off by the Primus and Liati. Rightly outraged the 2nd ship sliced the Primus in twain and then in the next turn killed the damaged Liati. Another great game and opponent and I went home happy
the last game was notable for my 14 crew criticals - none of which did anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
