Battle Dress

In my campaign I have a character from a custom race of small beings. One of the things the group if moving towards is trying to get him some high tech gear even up to battle dress. I'm certainly not opposed to this, but I was curious if any one had any house rules or could direct me to information on non-standard battle dress, where a person might go to acquire it, and things like construction time and cost for custom sized battle dress.

You could perhaps use the informations under "Building Custom Items" on
pages 14 to 16 of Supplement 4: Central Supply Catalogue as a guide.

Iro Inc (Darrian) will custom manufacture armour and weapons up to TL 15. But don't expect it to be cheap.

Where could I find information on this "Iro Inc (Darrian)" is this in an upcoming supplement or in a book I missed?

Depending on the charcaters' connections and background, they might be able to source heavy military hardware (battledress isn't supposed to be easy to purchase anywhere, after all). If they're in an established military or mercenary unit and have the right end-use ticket to allow them to purchase battledress, ordering a custom suit would only be expensive, not impossible. Just shovel enough credits at your local Instellarms representitive. You could also potentially set things up as a publicity stunt for the manufacturer (Hey! Look how versatile our custom manufacture line is!)

Another important factor, is are there any similarly sized and shaped aliens in the campaign that would already be using this stuff? Local demand would determine availability and cost. As for time - it could be weeks or months, depending on your campaign priorities.

Armoured vacc suits should be able to be ordered on a custom basis from most manufacturers, though.

If your campaign is going to visit such poison-atmosphere hellholes as Aramis or Yorbund, armoured vacc gear is essential...

Probably the main difference between a civilian armoured vacc suit and combat armour proper would be the sensor and communications gear, though a hostile environment suit would resist funky environments better than combat armour.
