BASIC Lankhmar QUESTION

Hello!


To CONFIRM:

Is LANKHMAR a complete system (a complete game), or do I need to buy the Runequest rulebook to be able to play it? Do I need to buy any other (non-Lankhmar) books to be able to play it, besides the main Runequest one (like the Companion), & if I do, which ones?

Lankhmar is a setting, rather than a complete game. It includes additional information on character creation, creatures, etc. but you need at least a copy of the main RuneQuest book for the nuts and bolts of playing the game.

After that, RuneQuest Monsters is useful, along with RuneQuest Companion, which outlines magical item creation and lots of other useful stuff.

Signs and Portents supports RuneQuest pretty well. In fact, this month there is an article written with the Lankhmar setting in mind.
