Barnest2's attempts at model's :D

Coming along nicely :-)

I'm guessing the fusion bays are mostly defensive against smaller attack ships (not small craft necessarily, but small ships) coming broadside aiming at the bridge for a quick coup d'etet. Too bad the game doesn't model the ability, or have I missed or not come to that in HG yet? Not that one couldn't whip up some rules if one wanted to :-)

I added some torpedo tubes, but I'm not very happy with their placement. Unfortunately, they have too go on those decks, and I like symmetry... any advice?

Can they both go on one deck? Port/Starboard?

It looks to me like your torpedo bays (behind the outer hatches) are in the same volume as your main gun bays (below the turret part). At least as I'd see it.

Do torpedo bays have to have three tubes? Or have you designated three tubes per deck? I haven't really tackled building a big ship yet in MgT.

I'd shift them to the sides of each main gun bay, however many tubes you like or need being placed there instead. Possibly angling the hull slightly for deflection and giving the torpedoes a bit of off-angle fire so they aren't being launched directly in front of the ship in case of a dud (but really just for aesthetic interest). If you follow :)

Looks like I'm going to shift them to port and starboard of c gun... thats the rearmost upper deck forward gun for you non-naval types :p
I'll have them running down through a couple of decks (in my mind) and firing straight up

Oh, and be ready for a big update

Right, 4 new pics, lots of changes:
First off, we have the new locations of the torp tubes, we have the particle barbettes, as well as what the bridge looks like with shiny tinted windows...

Third deck's amaments are almost complete, with the nice additions of a pair of fusion bays, and a load of PD guns

A close up of the PD guns, designed with much difficulty  ... there is no differentiation between types, just numbers of guns per turret (all are double). They may gain more detailing in the future.

And a shot of the rear, showing just why people think twice when trying to sneak up on a town class...

Thats where the M-Drives will eventually go. I use visible engines just because "Rule of Cool", thats why, even if it doesn't quite fit the M-Drive description.

See what you think of the new frontage... some edits...
More tubes added

And just because I can. Yes, this is along with the above...

Added a few more shots.
First,a long shot showing the main armaments. Shows off the forward fusion guns and a glimpse of the two forward PD turrets.

The towns 'teeth' :D

A nasty looking broadside of fusion guns :D

Armaments are complete. Need to do engines, hatches, and possibly some other minor stuff and then the model is done.

Ok, res'ing this, because I am starting a new model. This time it's a small sleeker destroyer.
basic design:

It's just the basic right now. I'll be messing with the design then adding weapons and stuff.
What do you think?

I made a mistake on my cruiser :(
All of it was half the size it should be, as I was going at 1 ton for 1 square, when it should be 1 ton for 2 squares...
I'm doing a new version, and it should go quite quickly...
Pics later, as photobucket is being stupid right now...

new ships!

I made a far trader for the PbP...
Then I made a stretched version, 400 tons... its purty...

A shot of them next to each other. it really shows what 200 tons can do....

Then I made some mods to make it pretty. I'm not sure about the windows on the bottom left, but they'll do for now.
