Yeah, that's why I'm always using blowguns with a poison darts for impaling enemy.
Especially if the poison is so strong that even buffalo can't stand.

It may be due to my uncertainty in how poison works. But what does it help making the impale roll even if you have it poisoned? Wouldn't Choose Location or Bypass armour be better?

Impaling the enemy and putting poison on the impaling darts are much better than just impaling it.
You impale the enemy harder the more poison he gets.

What does it help in game terms to impale him harder? Do you allow a bonus on the potency roll for that?

Also, I don't know whether that makes sense or not. If you are hit by a needle covered in something nasty, if it gets into your blood, it gets into your blood. It doesn't matter how deep the wound is. And the limiting factor is probably more the amount of poison on the needle than the amount of needle that's stuck in the body.
