Babylon 5 ACTA Modelling Help

Hey there,

I received my order about 2 weeks ago. Yay!

I was just about to sit down and start assembling them together only to realise, for some of my 3rd Age EA fleet. I'm not sure where some of the extra bits go.

The Omega, Nova & the Carrier are the easiest to assemble.

The Hyperion has the engines which are easy, but there is a circular bit I'm not sure where it goes.

The Olympus has the engine fins, but not sure where they fit.

Not sure also how to the put the fighters on the bases, I've had no experience in modelling what so ever.

Are there any instructions for putting the ships together?

Can anyone help me please? It would be much appreciated.

The small circular disk for the Hyperions is a bridge/sensor type thingy. It should go on the front of the upper conning tower.

Engine fins funnily enough go on the engines. 4 on each Olympus, basically they sit in with the fins in the outer corner of each engine

The fighters should have a 'peg' underneath the fighter, which will fit into one of the holes in the corner of the hex fighter base. It is quite possible that the fighter base does not have any holes in it though. So you may need to take a drill to them.

There should hopefully be pictures available in this thread in the ACTA forum.

Take a look at the Mongoose miniatures gallery; you'll find a few photos of Hyperions in the EA section. This one should also answer your questions about the Olympus.

And look at Burger's tips on how to make the Omega's centre section rotate.

I haven't seen the EA fleet, the fighters are probably like those in my Shadows fleet (apart from the obvious differences ) I just glue the pillars under the fighters into the holes into the hexagonal lump of metal which acts as a base. Due to casting deficiencies, some of the holes in my bases needed to be drilled out while others were too big, so I glued the fighters in with epoxy - that worked as both adhesive and filler.

Well I still have painting and assembly queries even though minis are out of production, but then I do have the Carlsberg-IKEA fleet :lol:

I can write a guide on how to open the paint pot if that will help you LBH.

You know when you go on those training courses that ask you to make a list of the 50 things you want to achieve before your XXXX, (insert preferred age here).

"Seeing a painted mini by LBH" is on my list.
