Axis and Allies minis for VAS?

So i've played some A Call to Arms and like it, decided i'd try VAS as well since its pretty much the same system with a few differences from what i gather anyway

was curious if the Axies and Allies War at sea game minis are adequate to represent all the ships available...or at least get me by until i decide what to use if i were to get minis.

As to minis what is a good scale to use for ships/fighters? i noticed a post on the second page listing a bunch of places to get minis of various scales.

The War At Sea minis are ok, but they will limit your fleet selection.

It depends on where you live.....

US players tend toward 1/2400 fleets.
Other places tend toward 1/3000 fleets.

The best suggestion I can make to you is to find out what scale the group you are going to be playing with would like to or does use, and go with that scale.

We use the A&A minis in our group. We find they work pretty well.

Actually the Brits tend toward 1/3000, the continent is rather 1/2400.

Belgium: 1/2400 (100%)

Canada: 1/2400 (66%) - Counters (25%)

Germany: 1/2400 (50%)

France: 1/3000 (50%) - 1/2400 (50%)

Italy: 1/3000 (100%)

UK: 1/3000 (75%) - 1/2400 (20%)

USA: 1/2400 (96%)
