AVP in BFE?

Banded Mongoose
I saw a couple boxes of horrorclix last night at my LGS. One had 7 Aliens, and one had 6 or 7 Predators. Now, I've never had the desire to play hero/horrorclix, but the models look to be close enough in size for a BFE invasion... I might start putting together a couple cards for them today to see if it's feasable...

I think that Starship Troopers presents a better ruleset for AVP game (granted they are based on the same system i know) but i think you'll get more inspiration ni SST

I would say if you want to use a Pred force then SST is the better place for it... BUT if you could make a hard Pred Hunter and set one off hunting in BF:Evo... I know a few of my mates would love that idea...

Hmm maybe have a 3 player scenario.... 2 BF:Evo forces each with a military objective to achieve, so they fight each other, then have a 3rd player playing a Pred with the objective to get as many scalps as possible, 1st to complete their own objective wins. Have the pred deploy in ambush as soon as the terrain is set, before sides are rolled or any units deployed.

Give them in cover like sas, but can used used in the open as well...
And cannot be shot at from 10" away, normally its 20" for special forces, but they do have the cloak..

I wil be doing real alien rules sometime to come....

I wasn't looking for horde rules for the aliens, just that random group that pops up. I don't have any experience with SST yet.

And on a side note, one question:
Do the Horrorclix AVP Aliens and Preds look good?
They seem to... I'm also thinking about acquiring those 2 sets.

yeah, they look pretty snazzy. The alien set has a human about to get pounced on, and the predator set has that girl from the AVP movie with her shield and spear. The humans look a bit taller than the average BFE troop, but the aliens and predators look fine sizewise. they look to be good models (once you cut them off that clicky base and mount them to something more appropriate).

Well, they're packaged in clear plastic, so you can always just look :). I think they look pretty good, although probably a bit bigger than BFE scale. Not generally a problem for aliens, IMHO, although there is one human "Predator Apprentice" in the Predators set. Some of the Aliens are sculpted on pillars or other terrain, which makes them a little lower in general usefulness.

One of those "?EG" companies (Leading Edge Games? West End Games?) made an Aliens game a long time ago. Quite a collector's item now, I understand. To the best of my knowledge, any other metal minis for Aliens or Predators are unauthorized knock-offs. Not that they're too uncommon despite all that.

When... I get to actually see them 8)
They are still not available over here.

From the pictures they look good, but pictures... you know...

Issue 6 of the Wargames Journal comes with a bunch of Predator like metal miniatures, in the Scorched Earth article.

Those look pretty good. I checked out that website, and they seem to be just as much as the horrorclix ones (not to mention there seems to be several very obvious copywright infringement issues there). I did like the Underworld Kate Beckensale though...

As did I - I bought two.

The AVP box sets are available in Blighty at the time of writing and I've picked up both with a view to a one-off BEVO game. Of course, if it proves popular, then they may make a return appearance - but then they have a tendency to do that anyway, don't they?

I posted a topic like this on the what should mongoose phublish nexts. Only its avpvtvrc( ailen vs pred. vs the terminator vs robocop<was a sugesten by some one>) wasnt a good idea.
