Avenger In-Service Dates

I noticed earlier on today that the in-service dates for the Avenger end 13 years before the Earth civil war, yet the description says that the Avenger was used a lot in the earlier stages of the civil war.
Anyone have any ideas on what the in-service dates should be for the Avenger?

AoGs B5W fluff had it that the last Avenger was destroyed during the Earth-Minbari War (along with the prototype Poseidon). With the Poseidon on the planning boards, and being seen as a superior replacement for the Avenger, no replacement Avengers were built post war.

I am guessing that Mongoose just used the B5Wars ISDs without changing them to fit their back story.

The same AoG book which lists the Avenger dying out in the Earth-Minbari War also has them listed in civil war scenerios. They were never great with keeping themselves totaly straight fluffwise.

The ships in the fleet lists are usually only the newest version, earler versions can have existed earlier than that

The stats are the same for both Third Age and Early Years versions, other than the ISDs. From memory (so I might be a bit off) the Early one's ISD runs until the end of the Minbari war and the Third Age one stops before 2250, which can't be right in a fleet that is supposed to run from 2250. Fine if you're not using ISDs. I think the 1e version was in service until 2261, not sure, but it might be a suffering from a dose of the Falkosis .

I rememeber that too.
the Avengers does seem an oddity in the 3rd age fleet when you look at the ISD's.
