ATV now a TEV?

Library Data has a low down on the good old ATV that many will recognise from CT. But the Vehicle Design book changes it to just a transport with most of its ancillary strengths (bunks, long term life support, amphibious) relegated to a new tracked TEV instead. I think the ATV is a bit disappointing now - it was always the vehicle of choice in CT along with the air/raft, now with this new book its been made rather useless. Why was it changed?

I think that the ATV has become a more military/paramilitary vehicle, whilst the TEV does all that the ATV used to do, the TEV seems almost identical to the older ATV other than tech level, and is describe as a scout vehicle.
You could of course just slightly redesign the ATV to match the old version, using the new ATV as a template and adding in the missing bunks, life support etc.

Yeah I just wondered why it had been done - I suppose they have just split the two functions up - armed all terrain vehicle and scouting exploration vehicle. I am fine with that though. Strange thing is though that the exploration vehicle isnt amphibious and the ATV is - shouldnt they be the other way around?
