AT-43

And they don't have the men and resources to promote half a dozen games simultanously
a biased person might have said something about finishing one job before undertaking another, but as i'm most certainly not biased in any way, i'll refrain from any comments
anyway-i'm not entirely giving up on the Game, and of course bear the best wishes for the Evo promotion in the shop, i can see some..dire straits that might await such promotion. especially since it raises the question if they'll even do it-after all they'll already have another prepaint in the stock, wont they?
anyway-i'll wait and see, until then i'm off to paint some ORC troopers
(that is a definite end of offtop here, honest!)

That was a little OTT Poko!

My point is to have a little patience and faith, as I am sure SST will be find in the long run.

damnit dont go against the company!!! Ill get my fanboy puppy onto you :D

from the bits ive seen evo sst is gona be good, thing is bf evo has been the exsperiment, and to be honest its the game ive always whated, but i may pick up a forth army,, maybe, i love the modles ive seen in the flesh.

but BF is my love, as i can relate to it better than space men and bugs, that said the forth will sell me on the game.

So was referring to AT-43 as dog poo.

My concern is the new SST models being the same scale as the BFE models. If thats the case, none of the vehicles i've been waiting for will fit all the troops I have.

I wish the game companies could get together and pick a scale for 28mm figures. They seem to range from a few true 25s (historicals) to 35+mm. The heroic 28s (i.e. 30s) seem to be the most common, but even they slide around a bit.

I have a bunch of Terrain sized for heroic 28s. It looks to big for the BFE figures, and although I like the AT43 figures, they are to big for my other figures to be used side by side.

The arguement that companies want you to play their figs with their games is waisted on me. I like mixing and matching. Because of this when new figs come out dramatically diferent in size, i turn them down. As for pre-paints I love painting but I also enjoy a few of the CMGs so I'm not a snob about paint quality.

It would be nice, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't even think forced incompatibility is the name of the game here, just different aesthetics. Some people want figures as close to scale as possible, even if that means the guns bend and break when you look at them crossways. Some people want big faces so they can paint in some personality, others want big shoulders so they can paint fancy insignia. Some people like scale vehicles, some like oversized vehicles that look better next to based infantry. Some people like fancy antennas, some people play rules that make fancy antennas a fire magnet :).

If you want to have different scale minis, though, SF is the place to do it. Genetic drift from different colony worlds can have that effect on people :).

Personal opinion only.

I am buying back into SST and will hope for the very best.

When SST Evo actually is here then, and only then, will I know the answers to these many questions. :?: :?:

I for one like the first edition reaction process. I am not sure how the only one reaction will change or not change my perception of the game system.
Again , I will just have to wait and see.

For my personal satisfaction I love SST but have just not really been "grabbed" by BF Evo, as yet.

Just getting started with GOMC-1, awaiting my shipment of miniatures and rules.

Also will be curious to see whether ACTA Second edition will be my cup of tea.

I am not a Mongoose Fanboy, but I do appreciate their efforts on behalf of the gaming community. :D :D :D :D

By the way Lt Rasczak, very good to hear you are back on track. :D :D :D :D :D

Take care all and enjoy. Be careful out there!! :D :D :D :D :D

Keep the Faith buddy!

I think all will be well, I've been into my local FLG's today and arranged for me to do SST Evo Intro's when the time comes!

I had no issue with it either, BUT it plays faster the new way.

Me neither (although I am on the 'verge')!

Superb Game! Top Banana! You will love it I am sure.

I quite Like it, although I prefer Infantry based games to space battles.

Nope, I'm afraid you said something nice about Mongoose at least once on at least one forum. Hence, you are a Mongoose Fanboy.

At least, that's how it works as far as I've ever been able to determine...

..... So..umm... does making cards for Starship Troopers v1 make me a fanboy?

Hey Hiromoon! Are those cards ready for download? You should upload them!
Btw will there be a Forth conversion for the original SST game(even without an army book?)?

Personally, I prefer the Marauder kits to the look of the AT-43 mechs. I don't know if I can use the word "realistic" but the M8 and M9 just seem to make more sense. Could also be the many hours I spent watching the entire TV series on DVD a few weeks ago

I thought the standard fanboy test was if you liked the skinny slave miniatures :D

And yet I HATE the Runequest Broo . . . . . .

GWs chaos beastmen make great Broo. And at 20 figures for $35 (less online discounts). They aren't that bad a deal. The ducks on the other hand are fun little figures.
