AT-43

I have AT-43, my lovely partner Linda bought it me for Christmas.

The Rules are good (they remind me of SST in places) but other than that, its a bit too much like 'product' for me.

A little too sterile.

I like the look of Red Block (being a fan of the Neo Sov's in VOR) so maybe that will change my feelings when they are released.

I've been saving my pennies for SST, otherwise I'd probably be all over this one. Which is probably the kiss of death for SST; no game I buy into ever seems to go anywhere... :(

At-43 is a little faceless right now. The designs are also a bit silly. E.g. how are those walkers meant to go up hill without toppling, how are their legs meant to step up. Remind me of the Gargants from Epic 40k(and they were a joke!).

well, true, but it also has this stunning advantage of actually existing and having steady releases.

BUT if you're hungry, would you eat Dog Poo just because there is a steady supply of it?

during a long period of famine people often find thing they thought inedible to be, in fact, quite edible. a year-long famine with morale-shaking occurances in the middle tend to have that kind of effect on people.

Poko, don't be such a drama queen :P

When I look at the cool models, the fluff and the absolutely AMAZING artwork I start to get drawn to Rackham's youngest baby like a moth to the flame. I need to sit down with the ruleset and see if it's as cool as I heard.

I can. I'm kinda mad too. You're not the only one who spent lots of cash on SST, mate. But getting out of the EE's hegemony in Poland will be long and painful, especially since Mortimer & Co. are, generally speaking, the only big player in the industry that tries to achieve it. And they don't have the men and resources to promote half a dozen games simultanously - right now they're concentraiting on WM/Hordes, then they'll be hitting AT-43 for some time, and then, when EVO comes out there will once again be some time reserved for SST - <hippie talk> life's a cycle, man </hippie talk>

Pull yourself together, trooper! We ain't dead yet, we're just temporarily vegetables until the EVO rulebook comes out :P

[Sorry for the slight offtop guys, but you know... ]
