Assault Landers, a lost miniature

So while finishing up my last few Hawkwood miniatures, I stumbled across my assault landers. I have them for both Hawkwood and Decados and have even noticed them in the fleet picture in the fleet lists of both houses. Does anyone know if there are plans to re-release them from mongoose? When will we see their stats? Are they being recycled as a new miniature for NA:ACTA? Anyway ponderings from someone who wouldn't mind seeing them used as I already have the minis :)

Sounds to me like they should have a huge advantage in campaigns. Seeing as how they are designed for taking land in air to surface combat. I always envisioned fleets of assault landers being used during the emperor wars to ferry marines to the battle ground from the military equivalent of luxury liners. Especially after studying the deck plans the released for the luxury liner.

Most Ships in the FS / NA universe are capiable of Atmospheric flight.

A simple Trait of Atmospheric or Lander will be an easy way to do it.

True dat. In 1st and 2nd ed NA ships were considered Streamlined, built to operate within an atmosphere, and Void, not build to operate within an atmosphere. The only Void ships were Capital ships, i.e. Cruiser and Dreadnaught class ships.

"Streamlined" is not a word I think of when looking at the Kurgan destroyer and light carrier...

Atmosphere ops isn't that big a deal - planetary landings, troop drops and so forth were in ACTA 2E and worked quite well - essentially allowing those ships with the trait to dump their entire marine cadre onto a planet in one turn (like a Brakiri Ikorta) rather than one or two per turn who'd get butchered by the defenders piecemeal (like an EA Assault Hyperion).

The main problem is that I think the only model out there is the Hawkwood one - which seems a little harsh given the tactical benefit. As noted it makes sort of sense for Imperial forces to have landers, but House Hawkwood pointedly isn't the Imperial fleet, whatever Alexios' relations would like to think...

They actually made a Decados one too, the Defiler, that came with the Dreadnaughts set. Its pretty wicked and the art of it was on the cover of the GM Screen for Fading Suns.
