arthurian RQ book?

Whatever happened to the King Arthur book that was mentioned way back when? The one that was supposed to stick more toward the historic time frame as opposed to Pendragon that focussed the chivalry of Mallory. I would love to see a Britons battling the Saxons and picts in the aftermath of the Roman retreat from Britain type book for RQ.

Honestly, I'm not that much of a fan of revisionist 'historically accurate' depictions of King Arthur. Certainly, the recent Hollywood movie that tried to do it this way was pretty underwhelming.

To me the 'legendary' and 'romantic' aspects of King Arthur, written into the texts of the medieval literature like Malory and so on, are what make it interesting. Of course, this has already been done in Pendragon to a very accomplished level - so there isn't much incentive to do it again.

I'm not adverse to having a less romantic Dark Ages setting done though - although the mooted Vikings supplement would probably be the one I'd be looking for.

Honestly, I really could care less about King Arthur part of the suppliment. I really want to see a suppliment based in Britain in the period right around or right after the Romans pull out. I only asked about the Arthur suppliment as I seem to remember it being announced sometime when MRQ was released.
No offense but I really am not looking forward to the Viking suppliment. That was done for RQIII. I would much rather see a celt or picts book or see MRQ II Slaine and books mentioned for MRQ Slaine see print. I am looking forward to the Baileoisin Chronicles if and when it ever materializes.

And Mallory's effectively been done with Pendragon - the best 'high chivalry' roleplaying game out there (in fact, one of the best systems and settings, period).

and Pendragon is easily converted to or from RQ for those that want that type of game. The games that tried to compete with Pendragon never did well. Why try and compete with perfection.

Found this while at RPG.net http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=491647. Obviously others are interested in this type of game as well, however I don't hold RPG.net as the majority oppinion of gamers and I didn't start or post on the thread. I am also not claiming that this is related to the long ago announced RQ book.
But I will ask again can anyone let me know if the RQ book announced along time ago is dead or is there a hope we might see a more historical Arthurian setting book for RQII?????

This might actually explain why the Arthurian period book for Runequest dropped out of the radar: there might be a gentlemen's agreement between Mongoose and Stafford not to step on each other's toes.
