Hi,

I have AOD and am thinking of getting VAS.

Is there ant planned expansions for these games?

Many Thanks

Rich.

Funny you should say that - we have been talking to David 'Mr Naval' Manely about a number of projects, from expansions to AoD to new eras to set sail in.

More news as it comes in!

Rich,

I am not sure...if you look through the threads there is talk of some new material for both AoD and VaS, but some of those threads are now a bit dated.

Like you I am just getting into the game after owning both rules sets and ooB for over a year.

I have recently re-read both AoD and VaS and they are very similar. Major differences are turning, how critical hits are determined and some of the modifiers. Otherwise some of the paragrahs are almost word for word. In fact I am not sure why they are different. I guess AoD is newer and some items may be condidered an improvement like how to determine critical hits.

If you like AoD I would say definately get VaS. The one advantage VaS has over AoD is a larger fan base with many items to share including player aids and many versions of Ship Data which is very limited in AoD.

If you send me a PM with your e-mail address I would be happy to share the few things I have for AoD as well as VaS if you decide to go that route.

Missed this as my CPU was acting up as I posted.

Good news, but any more detail on a time line? The has been talk on the boards for some time, but nothing more so far. ;)

TIA,

Napoleonic era please! :D

When big fleets ruled the waves, voyages took months and sailors would frequently break into song and dance (if the numerous Gilbert and Sullivan musicals are to be believed).

Apologies everybody. I'm finding it very difficult to find much spare time at the moment. Work life has exploded and home life was suffering as a result, so the work life / home life / wargaming life balance has to be sorted out, and at the moment its the latter which is suffering.

My plans for an age of sail version have been frustrated a little - i had aversion well advanced, but the feedback wasn't too good so its back to the drawing board on that one!

Good news is that the WW1 supplement for AOD is nearly there (French fleet plus some other bits and pieces to sort out), and plans for the pre-dreadnought version well advanced (although serious work not yet started).

Glad to see there is some new life on the horizon. Any thoughts about going back to fine tune and improve what we already have?

So is there a possibility for more ship list for VAS WWII? More planes not covered more Auxilaries and coastal Vehicles, Sloops and frigates for example. Your Number1 fan cant stand the wait for more.
Can we get stats for the Cant Z506?

I guess Matt would have to comment on that, but personally I don't see why not.

Stats for the Cant - I'll see what I can do :)

No, as far as I know the plans are definitely set in putty just now :)

I'm still working on the AOD supplement, and the RJW supplement would fit in nicely after that but is still in "concept" stage at the moment. There are other plans afoot, but Matt hasn't gone public on those.

Thanks for the quite response. So is "other plans afoot" related to AOD or the VAS rules system. In other words, can you at least confirm that they are related to naval wargaming?

Is there something new coming out? Id say yes. See the section on ships for the Italian fleet. and I hope to get more stuff posted.
