Anyone used Mapforge software?

I ran across this in Kickstarter - https://www.mapforge-software.com/overview/. Has anyone used it for planetary mapping, or other forms of mapping? It's apparently got a lot of map packs to choose from.

Windows OS: Windows 7 or newer (Vista might work, but is unconfirmed)

Mac OS X: v10.7 (Lion) through v10.13 (High Sierra).

Well, useless to me. But really, Inkscape (http://inkscape.org) works for for what I need (more like say a sector map).

For something more like MapForge, MapTools could be another possibility: (Not the same, and might not meet your needs)

I was a kickstarter backer for the full Monty, but cannot recommend it to you. It launched with a lot of bugs and memory issues, especially when loaded up with map packs. On the plus side it has seen regular updates and bug fixes but remains painfully slow on my high end Mac and the number of crashes caused my interest to wain after several months and not a single completed map to show for it. Sorry but it’s rather a regret IMHO.

I use Bryce and Vue for my planets.

Thanks for the input everyone. Maybe I'll just keep my eye on it for now until it becomes less buggy. Many moons ago there was an AD&D supplement that essentially computerized the books and allowed you to generate your characters and even maps. That mapping software was super easy to use for basic things and I've been looking for something much easier than something like Campaign Cartographer or Cosmographer. Both are very powerful, but have steep learning curves for someone that wants to pick and plop and move on.
